Yes, you can write a macro. I use the free OpenOffice and it has a PhotoAlbum macro. With PowerPoint, there are batch files and a MS download for PhotoAlbum ( > PowerPoint97). There are several commercial products that add bells and whistles such as dpi reduction and resizing.

Absolutely – there’s a feature built right into PowerPoint called Photo Album. In XP/2003, you go to the Insert pulldown menu –> Picture –> New Photo Album. In 2007 go to the Insert Tab –> Photo Album –> New Photo Album.

There is a dialog box that opens up and you can do all kinds of things – rotate, assess brightness, add text boxes, set for multiple pictures on a slide, etc. Too much to clarify here – you can just mess around with it.

One caveat about Photo Album – it is essentially making shapes and huge the shapes with the picture, not inserting pictures. But based on what you want to do, I don’t see that as a problem.

Yes, you can do it with easy:
Photo Album-> New Photo Album option->’File/Disk…’ ->Choose the photos (importing multiple pictures at a time is available) ->in the drop-down list of Picture layout, choose one picture ->Clicked Make button.
