Can I install Windows 7 on my old Dell 700M laptop if dell does not offer the drivers?
I want tο upgrade mу older Dell 700M 12″ laptop. I hаνе given іt nеw life wіth аn upgrade 320GB HD аnd more memory. Mу qυеѕtіοn іѕ іf I upgrade thе operating system frοm Windows XP tο Windows 7, саn іt still operate аt optimal іf I Dell dοеѕ nοt offer thе drivers?
First off. if you can’t find the drivers, the PC WON”T completely function and secondly, even if you did find drivers, it would run like crap.
Yes, a few bugs with the drivers but driveragent.com (have to pay i reckon $10 for it) to replace all the ancient drivers with newer ones. But you may need to change the core you’re running to atleast something new because it will lag like hell if you don’t. And then you have to make sure you have a new graphics card, or atleast a excellent one in it. : ) But yes, it is possible, for like…what, I reckon its $150 for the windows 7 cd? I dunno, go check it up at bestbuy.com to find out the price.
Yes you can bed in Win7 on that. You will have issues with the graphics I can tell you that right now, I had the same issue with my D400. Win7 has the drivers for everything but the graphics card. For the graphics card use the link below.
