OpenOffice is a fantastic Microsoft Office like application. It is free, avalable at openoffice.org, and has a word processor, powerpoint like application, spreadsheet application and more. And, its free!

Ditto on Alpine’s suggestion for Open Office. Their ‘Presentation’ application is the equivalent to Microsoft’s PowerPoint and Presentation will and can open and save to PowerPoint’s plot. Best to you…

I am going to “join the chorus” and top you towards Open Office.

It is more than “like powerpoint”. It is able to make, edit, read and open all the standard file formats that Powerpoint does. A presentation made in Open Office will work on Powerpoint, and vice versa.

Plus it includes programs that can use all the file formats for Word, Excel and Access also. Very very nice program, and an incredible price – FREE!!

    Go to OpenOffice.com

Open Office is a productivity suite, just like Microsoft Office. It has its equivalent of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher. You can download the entire suite for free at openoffice.com. Open Office’s PowerPoint is called Impress. You can’t download Impress by iself. But, the download only takes about 5 minutes.

P.S. Beware, the OpenOffice suite i useful, but it is not as feature laden as Microsoft Office. But hey, it’s free, and it’s the best free one out there.
