You can try this….Bed in 7 on the Hard Drive and then make a second partition either in the installation phase or with the installation is complete. Then reboot the computer with the Grib disk in the drive and bed in it on the partition that you made.

I’m dual booting win7 and ubuntu, but it’s been a while since I went through the early process. I would suggest searching for this on the ubuntu forums. Lots of excellent info there.

I know that you can certainly bed in windows with ubuntu. It does erase grub, but it reckon I remember reinstalling grub with the live cd or a grub only cd. Then you can load ubuntu and place the windows 7 info in your boot file. It’s on the ubuntu forums somewhere. I have them installed on separate drives and boot the ubuntu hard drive first. Makes the process a small simpler if you have to reinstall windows.

Hi Adrian, I know its a lot of distress. Micro$oft will overwrite Grub at the time of bed in, the best way to do it is first bed in Windows, and then Bed in Ubuntu, that way Grub cannot be overwritten by the Windows installer. I know there are better ways, but this one works for me. I hope this helps.
