When will they start putting Windows 7 onto hard drives for computers?
Well… I аm looking fοr a nеw computer hard drive bесаυѕе mу ancient one іѕ WAY past ancient. I heard аbουt Windows 7 аnd wаѕ wondering whеn іt wаѕ going tο bе рlасе onto computers. I know thеу hаνе thе beta out already, bυt I’m looking fοr thе full thing. Anу аnѕwеrѕ?
I’m thinking maybe a few days with Windows 7 comes out.
Windows 7 has been released to manufacturers.
The general availability date is Oct 22, so certainly by then, probably about a month before you’ll start seeing computers hit.
If you buy know you can probably get a free upgrade coupon to Windows 7.

bed in linux
it hasn’t even been released yet!
give them a chance.
download release candidate off the microsoft website, burn it to a dvd, and bed in it on your new hard drive.
the beta OS will start to shut down when your BIOS date reaches development 2010.
The time for the trial download of the pre-release version is past. Win7 will be on new computers to be sold Nov 1.
But, if your Hard Drive is that ancient, a Win7 bed in on your System (which one is it) probably won’t work or will be very hard (See AllthingsD.com about 4 or 5 weeks ago).
October 22 is the General Availability date, and you’ll find it on some computers from some OEM’s starting then. You’ll be able to buy it in stores then too. (If your computer’s fine but you just need a hard drive, you don’t need to buy a whole new computer to get it.)
You can already buy many new models with Vista and get a free upgrade to Windows 7 upon release, so there’s not a need to wait on a new computer if you need one now.
But otherwise you’ll see it starting October 22. Assumably there will still be some pre-assembled Vista inventory to clear out, so there should be some overlap for a few months with Windows 7 pre-installed on some things but still getting upgrades on others.
